1. Who we are and scope

Strive Marketing Services (Pty) Ltd (“Strive”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a South African data science and marketing services company. For the processing described in this policy, Strive is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

This policy applies when you visit strive.co.za, contact us by email or telephone, or otherwise interact with our corporate channels. Client projects and campaign services may be governed by additional privacy notices and agreements.

2. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number, employer, and job title;
• business information, including your company, responsibilities, and interest in our services;
• communications, enquiries, meeting requests, and information you choose to send us;
• technical and usage information recorded by our hosting environment, such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, timestamps, referring URLs, and security events; and
• information that applicable law permits us to obtain from public records, clients, suppliers, or business partners for separately agreed services.

The message form is currently disabled. If you email or telephone us, your communication is processed through the relevant communications provider.

3. How and why we use information

We use personal information to:

• respond to enquiries and provide requested information, meetings, or proposals;
• manage relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website and services;
• meet legal, regulatory, accounting, and contractual obligations;
• establish, exercise, or defend legal rights; and
• send relevant business communications where permitted, with an opportunity to opt out of direct marketing.

Depending on the context, our lawful grounds include consent, performance of a contract or steps requested before contracting, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests where these do not unjustifiably prejudice your rights.

4. Website technology and third parties

This is a static corporate website hosted on Microsoft IIS. The server creates operational and security logs. We do not currently use our own advertising cookies or an on-site analytics service on this website.

The site uses Google Fonts and embeds Google Maps on the contact page. When these resources load, your browser connects to Google and may send technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Google's handling of that information is governed by its own policies and controls. You can block third-party resources in your browser, although fonts or the map may then be unavailable.

5. Sharing and operators

We may share personal information only where permitted and necessary, including with:

• hosting, security, communications, IT, and other service providers acting under appropriate arrangements;
• professional advisers, auditors, and insurers;
• authorities or other parties where required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security; and
• parties involved in a proposed or completed merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Where Strive processes personal information for a client under the client's instructions, the client is generally the responsible party and Strive acts as an operator under the applicable agreement.

6. Cross-border processing

Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where POPIA section 72 applies, we use appropriate contractual or other safeguards and require a level of protection that is adequate for the information transferred.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to manage our relationship with you, and to comply with legal, regulatory, contractual, and legitimate business requirements. We then delete, destroy, or de-identify it where appropriate.

8. Security and incidents

We use reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, interference, alteration, or disclosure. No internet service is completely secure. If a security compromise affects personal information, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected individuals where POPIA requires it.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it;
• correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information;
• delete information that we are no longer authorised to retain;
• object to certain processing or request restriction;
• withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and
• stop direct marketing communications.

We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where law requires or permits us to do so. Access requests may also be handled under the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”).

10. Children

This corporate website is intended for adults and business users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 through the website without authorisation from a competent person where required.
